Updated September 2026. This is a now page, which lists what I’m focused on this month.

At work. I lead a team of seven data and AI engineers at a 3,500-person global manufacturer. Most of my attention right now is on governing the enterprise data lake my team and I have been building. In practice, that means ownership, quality standards, and access policy for what’s in the lake, and the ongoing work of keeping all three current. I’m doing the same for the AI systems the team now ships.

Writing. I’m publishing the field notes, eight retrospectives on the platform, governance, cost, and leadership work of the last decade, each labeled with the period it covers. The next posts I have in mind are one on mentoring outcomes and a write-up of the work timeline as a single narrative.

Looking. I’m open to Director / Head of Data roles, remote or in Colorado Springs, particularly at a multi-business or acquisitive company whose data estate needs consolidating and governing. If you’re hiring for a role like that, email me.

On my own time. I’m tinkering with home energy data (EV consumption profiling from interval-meter data) and riding bikes in the Front Range.
